Some of the arrested students and working professionals said the police personnel hit them during the raid. Some of them also questioned the motive behind the raid as it came almost a year after the lounge started running. Police officers,however,said force was not used during the raid.
Some of the students and working professionals including women,spoke to media-persons after they were released. A 22-year-old student said,The cops barged onto the dance floor and started hitting us. Some of them used elbows. They were abusive.
Deputy superintendent of police MP Karade said,There was no need to use force. It was a closed premises with only one gate. None of the customers or organisers resisted the action.
A 25-year-old IT professional said,The lounge has been there for a year-and-a-half. Someone needs to check the motive of police behind the raid. Several pubs and bars are open till early in the morning. Liquor is served and loud music is played elsewhere,too. I dont understand why we were beaten up as if we were criminals.
