15-year-old girl dead, 4 injured after car rams into truck on Mumbai-Pune expressway

A 15-year-old girl died and four others were left injured in a road accident near the Urse toll plaza on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway around 3 am on Friday. The police have identified the deceased as Sara Javed Qureshi.

Lata Phad, superintendent of Pune highway police, said, “A car moving towards Pune from Mumbai rammed into a stationary truck parked in the shoulder lane on the expressway near Urse toll plaza. A girl inside the car died in the mishap. Four others in the car were also hurt.”

After receiving information, teams of the highway police, Pimpri Chinchwad police and IRB Patrolling rushed to the spot. The police said the victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The process of lodging the FIR in this case is on at the Shirgaon Parandwadi police station.
