The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Wednesday organised a Jansamvad at Chinchwad under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister and NCP national president Ajit Pawar.

At Chinchwad, nearly 3,000 complaints were received, of which 1,200 were resolved on the spot, while others are being actively followed up by departments concerned. The majority of complaints were related to social welfare, water supply, revenue, building permission, police, solid waste management, city survey office, electricity, health, co-operative societies and RTO/Transport with each receiving over 200 submissions, the NCP claimed in a press release.

Across Jansamvad events so far, over 15,000 complaints have been received; 4,000 at Hadapsar, 4,800 at Pimpri, 3,600 at Khadakwasla and nearly 3,000 at Chinchwad. Of these, nearly 6,200 complaints have been resolved on the spot, with others under active process and follow-up with respective departments, the NCP said.

Like previous editions, the Chinchwad Jansamvad brought together citizens, officials and political representatives on one platform. The event used digital tools such as WhatsApp chatbots, helpline numbers, and digital kiosks to register grievances, track their resolution, and improve coordination between departments.

During the interaction, Ajit Pawar said: “We will accept all applications, and today I have various meetings. I will be visiting the divisional office shortly, and at that time I will speak with the Pune Divisional Commissioner regarding the Pune Municipal Corporation. We have also called some people concerned to the council, and I will explain to the relevant attendees the work related to their respective departments. In many places, I have observed that regarding PMRDA, some plots of land already belong to the authority, yet people are purchasing them. This is a kind of deception. Such land should not have been taken because it already belongs to the authority.”

“We will follow up on all the petitions that come to us, and we have recorded all of them. I do not claim that 100% of your work will be completed, but I will certainly ensure that as much work as possible is executed in coordination with all senior officials. I also assure the citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad and surrounding areas of this commitment,” he added.

The Jansamvad initiative has emerged as a structured model of citizen engagement, combining personal outreach with technology-driven accountability. It reflects Ajit Pawar’s commitment to building trust between people and their government through open communication and effective governance, the NCP said.
