Vikas Walkar, father of Shraddha Walkar who was allegedly murdered by her live-in partner in 2022, died at his Vasai residence early Sunday due to a heart attack. He was 62.
According to police, Walker lived in Vasai’s Sanskrit Apartment. His son told police that Walkar was found motionless in the morning and he was rushed to Cardinal Grace hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
“Walkar died of an (heart) attack. Panchnama and post-mortem procedures were duly done. His son has not made any complaint. There was no foul play in his death. Following due procedure we have registered an accidental death report,” said Balkrishna Ghadigaonkar, senior inspector of Vasai police station.
Shraddha was allegedly strangled by her boyfriend Aftab Poonawala in May 2022 in Delhi.
After killing her, Poonawala allegedly chopped her body into on the night of May 18 inside their house at Chattarpur Pahadi in South Delhi. Poonawalla then allegedly disposed of these pieces across the city.
