Sanjay Raut puts Supriya Sule on the spot over Ajit Pawar’s remark, asks ‘what will she do on Raksha Bandhan?’

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut hinted that Ajit Pawar’s remark that he erred by fielding his wife Sunetra against his cousin Supriya Sule in the Lok Sabha polls was made with an eye on the upcoming Assembly polls.

With Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s admission that he made a mistake by fielding his wife Sunetra against his cousin sister Supriya Sule in Baramati in the recently held Lok Sabha polls triggering speculation of reconciliation in the family, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut put Sule on the spot on Wednesday, asking what she will do this Raksha Bandhan.

“The general public also understood that what happened in Baramati during the Lok Sabha polls was not right. Pitting sister and wife against each other was wrong. But Dada (Ajit Pawar), who has been deputy chief minister four-five times, did not understand it,” Raut hit out.

“Ajit Pawar is not fit for politics…now he can do anything before Assembly elections to avoid being defeated. They lost badly in the Lok Sabha polls. So now he will go on Raksha Bandhan to tie rakhis to avoid getting defeated. When Dada goes to get the rakhi tied, the question is, what does Sule do?” he added, reminding Sule that Maharashtra fought for her in the Lok Sabha elections and helped her retain the Baramati seat.

Asked about her reaction to Raut’s statement, Sule avoided a direct response and said “Ram Krishna Hari.”

On Tuesday, Ajit Pawar had admitted that he made a mistake by fielding his wife Sunetra against Sule in the Lok Sabha polls. “I love all my sisters. One should not allow politics to enter homes. I made a mistake in fielding Sunetra against my sister. This should not have happened,” Pawar had said in an interview with Marathi news channel ‘Jai Maharashtra’.
