Cop shoots himself dead with service revolver in Nashik police station

After his colleagues at the police station heard the gunshot, they rushed towards his cabin and found his body slumped in his chair.

The police will record the statements of his colleagues and family members to clarify what was stressing him out.

The Ambad police have filed an accidental death report (ADR) in the matter and are checking if any suicide note was left behind by the deceased.

Soon after the death, senior officers, including Commissioner Sandeep Karnik and local deputy commissioners of police, rushed to the police station.

An officer said when Najan appeared for duty on Tuesday, he did not exhibit any external signs of being under stress.
