Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday said that no guilty in the alleged Covid-19 scam of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will be spared and hinted at former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray who was the chief minister then.

“We are not probing the scam, the ED is. No guilty will be spared but we will not take action to take revenge on anyone,” said Shinde. He was replying to a discussion on last week motion moved by the Opposition in the legislative assembly. He referred to various allegations of graft against Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena controlled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation during the management of the pandemic.

Shinde chose to attack Thackeray — without naming him — once again claiming he has many secrets with him, which he will expose if needed. “You call us traitors, but who backstabbed the ideology of Balasaheb (Thackeray)? Who betrayed voters? Who ditched the 25-year-old friend? Those who did this are Maha-Gaddars (great-traitors). And you call us Gaddars (traitor),” he said.

Shinde also showed a letter purportedly from Thackeray camp to Shinde’s Sena demanding Rs 50 crore from the bank account. “You sent us this letter and I agreed to it without even thinking twice. Because we do not want your money but we are the guardians of ideology,” said Shinde.
