Mumbai cops to provide security to Adipurush dialogue-writer Manoj Shukla after he cites threat to life

Police said that they have not registered any FIR in the matter yet, but are probing the threats received by the dialogue writer.

Mumbai Police would be providing security cover to lyricist and writer Manoj Shukla Muntashir, the dialogue writer of the recently released film ‘Adipurush’ after he submitted a complaint of getting threat calls.

A senior police officer confirmed the development and said that inquiry is being conducted in the threat calls received by the writer and have decided to give police security to him.

Muntashir’s dialogues in the multilingual film Adipurush, that hit the theatre on June 16, has courted controversies. The dialogues were mainly around the characters of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman.

Many netizens have been writing abusive comments and reactions on various social media platforms tagging Muntashir.

Police said that they have not registered any FIR in the matter yet, but are probing the threats received by the dialogue writer.

“We have received an application from Manoj Shukla and we are providing him security following a threat to his life,” the official said, adding that police are also investigating the threat angle.
