OPPOSITION CONGRESS has demanded that the state government arrest advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte after the State Transport Co-Operative Bank Limited published a photograph of Nathuram Godse in its annual report.

In June this year, the State Transport Kashtakari Jansangh panel headed by Sadavarte had won all 19 seats in the election of State Transport Co-operative Bank defeating the panels of existing labour unions.

Even during the campaign for the polls, Sadavarte had openly praised Godse, terming Mahatma Gandhi outdated.

The cover page has a photograph of Sadavarte’s panel’s members carrying photograph of Godse, V D Savarkar and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

“…Whenever there is a BJP government, people like Sadavarte gain strength. We dare home minister Devendra Fadnavis to arrest him and show that law prevails in Maharashtra,” said Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe.
