CHIEF MINISTER Yogi Adityanath on Friday launched the registration process for the Anant Nagar residential project, spanning over hundreds of acres in Lucknow, underlining that the Uttar Pradesh government’s priority is to ensure better housing options and an improved ease of living to people.

The project being developed by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), entails construction of 10,000 flats and seven plotted sectors, while 5,000 housing units in the EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) and LIG (Lower Income Group) categories will cater to over 25,000 people. Also, 3,000 homes will be built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). A 130-acre park and an EduTech City are also planned as part of the township, ensuring that residents have access to primary to higher education, technical, and medical institutes within the vicinity.

The initiative, the CM noted, is not just about providing homes but about transforming lives, improving living standards, and taking a meaningful step toward making Uttar Pradesh a 1 trillion dollar economy.

He also underlined the central government’s contribution in expanding access to quality housing and enhancing ease of living over the past decade. “The use of cutting-edge technology and delivering affordable housing ahead of schedule is the need of the hour, and LDA is progressing in this direction,” he said.

“Earlier, constructing a high-rise building could take 5 to 10 years. Today, with modern technology, structures can be raised within months, allowing faster access to better residential facilities,” Adityanath added.

He recalled the Light House Project launched in Lucknow two years ago, describing it as a commendable initiative that continued even during the Covid-19 pandemic, due to its use of cutting-edge technology. He directed the LDA to adopt similar ultra-modern construction techniques for the Anant Nagar project as well.

“Our aim is to provide affordable and yet high-quality residential facilities in a green and spiritually enriching environment, where all necessary amenities are available in one place. This is not only a priority for the government but also a guiding principle behind the scheme’s design and implementation,” the chief minister said.

Special attention has been given to the needs of economically weaker sections, and dedicated allocations were made for those eligible under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to ensure inclusive housing, he added.

“It is our priority to ensure the best educational facilities — from pre-primary to higher education, technical education to medical education — within one well-planned campus. I am confident that the scheme has been conceptualized in a short time, and its benefits will reach the people as soon as possible,” the CM pointed out.

Reiterating his commitment to transparency and citizen-centric governance, Adityanath directed the LDA to begin preparations and ensure no individual should require a middleman to access housing under this scheme. “We must make the Anant Nagar project accessible to the common man as soon as possible.”
