Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday reviewed the preparations to protect cattle from lumpy virus and issued guidelines to officials.

“Food was being provided at the rate of Rs 30 per cow to the destitute cattle sites for maintenance of the cows and the families serving the cows. Now it will be increased to Rs 50 per cow. There should not be any outstanding balance in this regard,” said a government spokesperson.

A statement quoting Adityanath read, “In recent times, ill-effects of virus were seen on cattle.  The infection caused widespread livestock loss in many states. We will have to work in mission mode.”
