Police Sunday conducted a drive to remove loudspeakers at religious places.

Officials said that it is part of the ongoing drive to remove loudspeakers and the present drive was initiated following some complaints that some religious places were using loudspeakers with loud noise.

“There is a Supreme Court direction that religious places can play loudspeakers under limited decimal only. Complaints were coming that loudspeakers were being used at religious places at high decibels of noise. A drive has been conducted across Lucknow. Our teams are visiting different places, and loudspeakers being used at high decimal are being removed. Awareness is being created about the rules and in many places people are removing it on their own,” informed DCP west, Vishwajeet Srivastava.
