Anubrata Mondal,the Birbhum district president of Trinamool Congress,will be provided with Z category security in the wake of the recent killings of political leaders by Maoists in Chhattisgarh,the police said on Friday.
The high-level committee of the state government,which categorises security measures,has recommended this security measure for Mondal, said Birbhum SP Murlidhar said.
The categorisation is done on the basis of intelligence inputs,he said.
Interestingly,Mondal was in the news a few days ago for openly instigating party workers to stop candidates of the opposition parties from filing nomination papers for the panchayat polls.
