The procession is set to start from near the Vidyasagar Statue on College Street and proceed towards the Assembly.

New AC AMU from Kalyani to Sealdah

The Railways will launch a new AC EMU between Sealdah and Kalyani from today. The train will depart from Sealdah at 3:35 pm, and is scheduled to arrive at Kalyani Junction at 4:52 pm. The return journey will leave from Kalyani at 5:02 pm. The new local train service is expected to benefit students and office-goers in the area.

4 Kanyashree girls to debut at World School Volleyball Championship

Four girls from West Bengal, who are beneficiaries of the state government’s Kanyashree scheme, will be representing India at the World School Volleyball Championship. Organised by the International School Sports Federation (ISF) in Shangluo, China, the four girls – Abhisikta Pal, from North 24 Parganas, Saranya Ghosh from South 24 Parganas, Rupkatha Ghosh from Hooghly, and Soheli Samanta, also from Hooghly – have earned a spot in the 14-member Indian national school volleyball team (Under-15 Girls). Initially, six players from West Bengal were shortlisted for the tournament. But Adrika Das of North 24 Parganas and Puja Rajbangshi of Hooghly did not make the final cut.
