FIR against Taslima for ‘hurting religious sentiments’

Taslima had criticised a meeting between AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and UP cleric Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan on Twitter.

An FIR has been filed against Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Muslims. The FIR,lodged at Kotwali police station in UP,was based on a complaint by Muslim cleric,Hasan Raza Khan Noori Miyan,who objected to certain tweets Nasreen had published on November 6,police sources said on Thursday. Miyan alleged her tweets hurt the feelings of the Muslim community and said a fatwa has been issued in the light of Hadees and Quran. He demanded the writer’s passport be seized and she be arrested.
