Army seizes weapons, narcotics near LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri

The Army troops in an operation Saturday night recovered arms, explosives and narcotics from two different places along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s border Rajouri district.

Giving details, sources said the troops following intelligence operation carried out an operation in the Jhangar area of Nowshera and seized two pistols, along with 2 kg narcotics.

In another operation, they defused an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 2 kg in the Lam area. The IED appeared to have been planted by the militants near the LoC.

The operation has averted a major incident which could have been initiated by perpetrators using weapons and the IED, an army official said.
