The Andhra Pradesh government Wednesday announced the helpline numbers and an emergency cell for the people from the state that are stranded in Nepal amid anti-corruption protests there.
Some 215 Andhra Pradesh natives are believed to be stranded in Nepal. The emergency cell has also been set up at AP Bhavan to assist the state’s citizens in Nepal. Dr. Arja Srikanth, resident Commissioner of AP Bhavan, is also coordinating with Nepalese authorities. The numbers of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu are +977-9808602881 and 9810326134. Along with regular calls these numbers are available on WhatsApp too, officials said.
With Kathmandu runway closed until 6 pm Wednesday, rescue operations have yet to begin although Indian aircrafts are scheduled to begin evacuations Thursday morning.
The office of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Andhra Pradesh natives stranded in Nepal can seek assistance at the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi on mobile number +91 9818395787. Realtime Governance number 08632381000, Extn 8001 and 8005.

Minister for HRD, IT and Real Time Governance Nara Lokesh Naidu is coordinating rescue operations for Telugu people stranded across Nepal.
On Wednesday, Lokesh reached the Real Time Governance (RTG) Center at the State Secretariat and held a review meeting with senior officials. He instructed that immediate relief must be extended, stranded people shifted to safer locations, and regular updates provided, officials said.
“Updates on their safety and well-being must be collected every two hours,” the minister told officials during the meeting.
The minister also interacted via video call with some of the stranded citizens, including Surya Prabha, who briefed him on the present situation in Muktinath, an ancient Vishnu temple located in Mustang, Nepal, where several Telugu pilgrims are stuck in a hotel.
According to official information, the stranded citizens are spread across four locations: 27 people in Bafal, 12 in Simikot, 55 in Mahadev Hotel, Pashupati, 90 people in Pingalasthan, Gaushala. Of these, 187 Telugu people have been tracked down and more are being contacted, officials said, adding that the Naveen Srivastava, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, has been updated about the situation and the embassy has been kept informed.
