US man dies by suicide in Greater Noida residential apartment

Police yet to recover any suicide note; the deceased has been living with his Indian wife in the apartment since 2020.

A 45-year-old US national who had been living in a high-rise residential apartment in Greater Noida allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday, officials said.

Police said the deceased Anthony Christopher took the extreme step around 7.40 pm in Mahagun Mywoods Society, where he has been residing with his Indian wife since 2020, in the Bisrakh police station area.

Police said that they had not recovered any suicide note from the spot.

The police have informed the US Embassy about the death of Christopher, who was working in an NGO.

His wife, Salutina, is a lawyer and the couple has a 1.5-year-old son, the police said.

“The society’s security manager informed the police that a man had died by suicide. The reason for the suicide is not known yet. The forensic team and other senior officials have collected evidence from the spot,” said Hirdesh Katheriya, ADCP (Central Noida).

Necessary legal action is being taken by the police after taking possession of the body.
