The government on Monday told Rajya Sabha that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had not demolished any houses “to beautify the city for G20 Summit”, in response to a question by RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha.

Jha had asked whether the DDA had demolished houses in New Delhi to beautify the city ahead of the G20 Summit, scheduled to take place in September.

In a written response, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishore said: “The DDA has informed that no house has been demolished to beautify the city for the G20 Summit.

However, it is stated that identification of encroachment on government/DDA land and its removal is a continuous activity.”
