The BJP-led government in Delhi is going to host a grand food festival to celebrate the foundation day of the Capital and nine other states, at Red Fort, said officials, adding that the event is likely to be held on November 1.

The city government is also planning to launch the official logo of Delhi at this event, officials also said.

Earlier this week, the Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had announced that her government was all set to unveil its official logo on November 1, which is observed as the ‘Delhi Day’, the foundation day of the Capital.

The logo is said to be a reflection of Delhi’s “modern, transparent, and people-oriented governance”, while also representing the harmony between the city’s culture and its development.

Currently, while other states have their own official logos or symbols, which represent their identity, Delhi has none.

“Marking the foundation day of Delhi and nine other states, the Delhi government is going to host a grand celebration. Along with Delhi, four Union Territories — Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar — were also founded on this day… So, it is going to be an event that will showcase diverse culture, food and cuisine of different states,” said a senior official.

Apart from this, there will be an exhibition, light shows and mapping shows on October 31 (Friday), which marks Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary. There will be different food stalls representing states and UTs like Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and others.
