Bollywood filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment has sought permission from the North Municipal Corporation to shoot parts of a new film, tentatively named Fukhrey,at locations such as Hardayal Municipal Library and Chandni Chowk. The list had Panchkuian Road, too, but it was dropped.

“We have also identified a location near Geeta Colony that has an old pontoon bridge over the Yamuna. We will possibly shoot in September,” a member of Excel Entertainment said.

The film, based on male bonding in school and college, has a north Indian theme,he said. “It will portray the lives of three friends from different backgrounds,” he said.

In its letter to North corporation, the filmmakers said credit would be given to the civic agency for its support. “This film is about Delhi. Our director has visited Hardayal library. We will use it only for exterior shots,” says the letter to the agency’s spokesperson Yogendra Mann.

Mann said: “We have asked them to submit the dates. We will be happy to grant them permission in accordance with the rules and regulations.”
