Ghaziabad Police have arrested four more accused in a case in which a 23-year-old Delhi woman was gangraped last week while she was learning to drive a scooter in the district. The four accused were arrested after a gunfight late Sunday night in which one of them, Imran (23), sustained an injury in the leg, said police.
The other arrested accused have been identified as Golu (21), Chaand and Sultan (both 19). Earlier on Sunday, another accused, Junaid (20), was arrested after a gunfight.
All the accused are residents of Khanpur in Ghaziabad.
Police said they have recovered two country-made pistols and cartridges from the possession of Imran and Junaid.
According to police, three of the accused had dragged the woman to the bushes and raped her.
Police said two other aides of the accused had tried to drag the victim’s friend, who was with her, as well but backed off after a vehicle arrived at the spot.
