AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused the BJP of distributing cash and gold chain to the people to buy votes for the February 5 polls.

Addressing mediapersons, Kejriwal said, “As elections draw closer, it is becoming increasingly evident that the AAP is on track to form a stable government with a complete majority. Gradually, as time passes, the AAP’s graph continues to rise. We are moving upward. Meanwhile, the Gaali Galoch Party (BJP) seems to have surrendered.”

He accused BJP leaders of distributing cash, gold chain, shoes, bedsheets, jackets, sarees and other items to the people to get their votes. “It appears they have given up entirely. As a result, they have resorted to dishonesty. Openly, money is being distributed, but this has caused great dissatisfaction among the public because the Gaali Galoch Party sent Rs 10,000 to distribute, but their leaders, being sure that they would lose, decided to profit instead.”

He alleged that BJP candidates are only distributing Rs 1,000 and keeping the remaining in their pockets “because of which people are furious… one colony is getting money and others are not”.

Kejriwal appealed to the voters: “Go to their offices and demand it (money or gifts), even by arguing or fighting if necessary. But under no circumstances should you sell your vote. Our vote is extremely precious, more valuable than diamonds. I am not asking you to vote for the AAP. My appeal to you is not to sell your votes… these are traitors to the nation. They are trying to buy the country. They have become so arrogant that they believe they can purchase this nation.”

“Even if an AAP candidate distributes money or goods, don’t vote for them, defeat them too. We have not come here to win or lose elections; we have come here to change the country. We are here to transform a rotten, corrupt system,” he added.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari hit back. “The person who was sunk in corruption and conspiracies for the last 10 years is abusing the BJP… Kejriwal and his leaders, arrested for committing crimes and summoned multiple times by investigative agencies, are calling Delhiites sellouts…”

He also alleged that Kejriwal is indirectly calling the people of Delhi “freeloaders”. “As people of Delhi are showing their trust in BJP, Kejriwal is afraid of losing… his frustration is clear through his statement…”

‘Polls will expose Congress & BJP’s jugalbandi’

Alleging that BJP and Congress are working together for the Delhi elections, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday their “jugalbandi” will be exposed.

Addressing a rally in Seelampur on Monday, Rahul Gandhi had said that Kejriwal was following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “strategy of propaganda and false promises”.

Kejriwal told mediapersons on Tuesday, “…Rahulji is trying to save his party but I am fighting to save the country… A very senior leader of BJP gave a statement in response to Rahulji’s statement, which clearly shows that both BJP and Congress are working together in the upcoming polls.”

He was referring to BJP IT department head Amit Malviya’s post citing Kejriwal’s response to Gandhi’s attack on him. “Worry about the country later, save the New Delhi seat for now,” Malviya had posted.

“I said just one line about Rahul Gandhi and the reply is coming from the BJP… Perhaps this Delhi election will expose the jugalbandi going on behind the scenes between Congress and BJP for years,” Kejriwal said.

“Parde ke piche ka gathbandan jo hua tha ab wo parda uth gaya hai (The alliance that happened behind the curtains has now been revealed),” he added. ENS
