2 women sustain injuries after being shot at in Delhi’s Alipur, accused absconding

Two women were shot at by unidentified persons in Outer Delhi’s Alipur on Sunday, officers said. DCP (Outer North) Ravi Kumar said that they received a PCR call on November 12, the day of Diwali, at around 4:10 PM that two women had been shot at in Khera Kalan near Shyam Kanta in Budhpur, Alipur, and that they had sustained injuries.

A police team rushed to the spot, where two injured women were found laying, with blood and cartridges strewn about. The injured women were identified as Pinki, 22, and Rakesh Devi, 45, both residents of Khera Kalan.

Both the injured were rushed to the hospital in a PCR van, where they are under treatment. “Gunshot injuries were mostly on the arms and legs and the patients are under treatment at Shalimar Max Hospital and are out of danger now,” said the DCP.

A case under attempt to murder and the Arms Act has been lodged and the accused is currently absconding.
