Tamil Nadu continues to face volatile weather conditions as a low-pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and ongoing cyclonic activity have triggered widespread rain across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued fresh alerts, warning residents of thunderstorms, lightning, and heavy showers through the week.

Chennai, already grappling with waterlogging, traffic snarls, and school closures earlier this week, is likely to see worsening conditions by the weekend, with heavier spells forecast for Saturday and Sunday. While no fresh announcement has been made on school closures for Wednesday, parents have been advised to stay in touch with school authorities for updates.
