A youth was sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment under Section 363 (Punishment for kidnapping) and fined Rs 1,000 by additional district and sessions judge Shalini S Nagpal on Wednesday for kidnapping a minor,with an additional one month imprisonment in case of default. He was also convicted under Section 366 (Kidnapping,abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage,etc) of IPC and awarded three years rigorous imprisonment with Rs 2000 as fine. Both the sentences would run concurrently.

The youth,Deepak Kumar,resident of Uttar Pradesh,was convicted for kidnapping a 14-year-old girl of Sector 51,who worked as a domestic help. Deepak is in his early 20s.

The girl,who worked as a domestic help in Sector 21,was found missing by her employer on January 2 this year,who informed her father. Deepak was arrested after the girls father lodged a police complaint.
