Restricted entry to Panjab University ahead of V-P Dhankhar visit

Apart from Gate number 1 and 2 which will remain closed for the general public, restrictions have been imposed on certain routes inside the PU campus from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday. These routes include Gate number-1 to Golden Jubilee Guest House via Administrative Block, and Chemistry Department and Physics Department road via Gymnasium Hall. Vehicles are also not allowed to be parked on this route.

“All residents, and visitors of Panjab University are not to park their vehicles on the roadside in the PU campus. If any vehicle is found parked in the unauthorised area, it will be towed away by the traffic police of Chandigarh,” a PU spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, gate timing for the general public was also fixed. Gate Number-1 will remain open for entry and exit from 6 am to 9 am and after 1 pm, while Gate Number-2 will remain open throughout for VIPs, guest invitees, faculty and media persons.

PU officials said that no vehicles will be allowed to enter the campus throught Gate Number-1 from 9 am to 5 pm.
