Citing natural phenomenon to be the cause behind presence of uranium in drinking water,the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre,Delhi today filed an affidavit in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The Research Centre has claimed that the rising menace can be curbed with installation of reverse osmosis plants. The affidavit was placed on record during the resumed hearing of a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by one Brijender Singh Loomba,a resident of Punjab. The court has allowed the state of Punjab four weeks time to respond to the affidavit.
