A middle-aged couple was found brutally murdered by unidentified persons at their Sham Nagar Colony residence in Jind on Tuesday. Dharambir (50) and his wife Savitri (48) were killed with sharp weapons last night,police said,adding that robbery may have been the prime motive behind the murders.
The incident came to light when Varinder,son-in-law of the couple,went to their house to meet them this morning. He informed police about the crime.
Police said the bodies were found in two different rooms and there was evidence of a struggle. There was blood all over the walls and floor of the rooms in which the bodies were found. The bodies have been handed over to the relatives after the post mortem examination was conducted , a police officer said.
Dharambir was a school clerk and his wife is the former sarpanch of Gulkani village in Jind district. A case has been registered against the unidentified persons.
