Ludhiana man dies in Italy after slipping from under construction building

The family of the deceased has appealed to the government to bring the body to Ludhiana's Lubangarh for his last rites.

A 40-year-old native of Ludhiana died in Italy allegedly after slipping from third floor of an under-construction building.

Avtar Singh, 40, a native of Lubangarh village of Machhiwara block in Ludhiana district, worked as a mason in Mantua of Italy.

The family of the deceased has appealed to the government to bring the body to Lubangarh for his last rites.

Avtar was working on the third floor of an under construction house in Mantua on August 10 when he slipped and fell down. He was rushed to a hospital but he was declared dead, said Bahadur Singh who is a farmer in Ludhiana.

Avtar Singh lived in Italy with his wife and two-year old son. Bahadur Singh, father of the victim, said that Avtar Singh had gone to Italy in search employment nearly ten years ago. He had visited his village a year ago.
