Ludhiana: Additional Sessions Judge’s house burgled

An FIR has been lodged based on the statement of Sardool Singh, belonging to Godwal village of Raikot, who is posted as the gunman of Hundal.

Sub-Inspector Bhajan Singh, who is investigating the case, said that an FIR under Sections 457 and 380 of IPC has been lodged against the unidentified accused persons.

A gang of burglars broke into the locked house of Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Ravdeep Hundal at Officer’s Colony on Mall Road, Ludhiana, recently and fled with taps and a geyser. The judge was in Chandigarh at the time of the burglary.

An FIR has been lodged based on the statement of Sardool Singh, belonging to Godwal village of Raikot, who is posted as the gunman of Hundal. The gunman stated that the judge left for Chandigarh on March 6 after locking his official residence and returned on March 9.

It was then that the judge found out the house had been ransacked. Taps and a geyser installed in the bathroom were stolen. The burglars also ransacked rooms and almirahs.

Sub-Inspector Bhajan Singh, who is investigating the case, said that an FIR under Sections 457 and 380 of IPC has been lodged against the unidentified accused persons. The police are scanning CCTVs installed near the residence. Some suspects have been captured in the CCTVs. The police are trying to identify the accused.
