Harsimrat Kaur Badal,SAD candidate from Bathinda parliamentary constituency,today formally kick-started her campaign by paying obeisance at Takht Damdama Sahib and Maiserkhana Temple. She was accompanied by her husband Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal and an impressive crowd of Akali supporters.
“The hype that the delay in announcing my candidature created was like hype before the release of a Shah Rukh Khan film,” Harsimrat said,while responding to a query.
“The battle has begun today,” said Sukhbir,while addressing a press conference in Talwandi Sabo. He said development would be the main poll plank of the SAD.
Harsimrat said she was committed to take the “development wave initiated by the SAD” to every nook and corner of the parliamentary constituency. She reiterated that she would work for the empowerment of women.
Earlier,her motorcade was accorded a thunderous welcome at a number of places by party workers on her way to Takht Damdama Sahib. At the local grain market,party workers played Holi and Akali leader Chiranji Lal Garg was seen dancing to the beats of dhol.
