Former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda Sunday promised that LPG cylinders will be given to the women for domestic cooking purposes at the rate of Rs 500 if the Congress was voted to power in 2024 assembly polls in the state. He also promised 300 units of free electricity to every family.

“A monthly pension of Rs 6000 will be given to all the elderly, including those whose pension has been cut recently. We will give legal guarantees of MSP of agricultural crops. Creamy layer limit of backward classes will be increased from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh annual. Sanitation workers would be given permanent jobs,” said Bhupinder Singh Hooda while addressing “Vipak Aapke Samaksh’” and “Jai Bharat Satyagraha” program organized by the Congress in Yamunanagar.

Hooda, who is Leader of Opposition in Haryana, also said: “During the BJP-JJP rule, tarmer did not get MSP of the crops.

Today there is no buyer for the mustard crop. The MSP of mustard is Rs 5450 per quintal but the farmer is forced to sell it at the rate of just Rs 4000 per quintal. The farmers are forced to sell potatoes at the rate of 50 paise per kg in Pipli mandi of Kurukshetra district. It was promised to double the income of the farmer, but the cost doubled, not the income.”

Hooda said: “The present government has implemented the concepts of property ID and family identity card (PPP) but under the guise of these schemes, government has cut pension of five lakh elderlies.”
