Surjit Hockey Academy will lock horns with Chandigarh Football and Hockey Academy in the final of the 12th ONGC SN Vohra Memorial sub-junior (U-14) hockey tournament organised by the Rock Rovers Hockey Club to be played at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium on Sunday. It was a complete team work from the CFHA players that led to its 6-6 win over HR XI in the first semifinal match. Meanwhile in the second semifinal encounter,Surjit Hockey Academy thrashed Lucknow XI by 6-1 to enter the final.
Continuing with his fine form,Daljit Singh scored the first goal for CFHA in the 8th minute. Adding one more to the tally,Sukhjit fired another one in the 9th minute to make the score read 2-0. After much groundwork,HR XI’s Rahul found success and scored the first goal for his team in the 25th minute. CFHA’s Rahul scored another one in the 30th minute to extend the lead. Sunny of HR XI fired a goal in the 34th minute to make the score card read 3-2. Thereafter,CFHA’s players played a commanding game and fired three goals within no time to make the lead 6-2. By then the contest was somewhat over. Though,Deepak and Sachin scored two goals for HR XI in the dying minutes,but that was not enough to save their team from the loss. In the second match,Bikramjit scored three goals for the winning Surjit Academy team in the 49th,54th and 56th minute of the match against Lucknow XI.
