CBI frames corruption charges against revenue official

The special court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today framed charges of corruption against a revenue official and a sarpanch,who were accused of taking a bribe of Rs 9 lakh last year.

The special court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today framed charges of corruption against a revenue official and a sarpanch,who were accused of taking a bribe of Rs 9 lakh last year.

Charges were framed against Fatehgarh Sahib residents Narinder Singh and sarpanch Darbara Singh under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The accused were arrested on April 4,2011 from Sector 43 while accepting the bribe during a sale deal in favour of the complainant.

The complainant had purchased land in Panjol village. CBI officials stated that Narinder Singh had allegedly threatened the complainant that in case of non-payment,objection would be raised to the tehsildar concerned and the sale deed would not be executed.
