Bihar woman flees to Ludhiana after ‘being raped by father multiple times’, zero FIR registered

The 18-year-old alleged that after the rape, her father used to forcefully give her contraceptive pills so that she does not get pregnant.

The Ludhiana police Thursday registered a zero First Information Report (FIR) on the complaint of a young woman from Bihar who alleged that she was repeatedly raped by her father.

The 18-year-old in her complaint said that her father had been raping her for many months due to which she had left her home in July and came to live with her friend in Ludhiana, Punjab.

She further alleged that after the rape, her father used to forcefully give her contraceptive pills so that she does not get pregnant.

She further alleged that when she opened up about the horrifying incidents to her mother, she confronted her husband. But the man assaulted her mother and threatened to kill her, the victim told the police.

On Thursday, she approached the city police and lodged a formal complaint.

ASI Gurmel Singh, the investigating officer, said that a zero First Information Report was registered under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sent to Bihar Police for further action
