Batish takes oath as Information Commissioner

Kali Dass Batish,a Shimla lawyer and former additional advocate general,was sworn in as State Information Commissioner on Friday.

States Chief Information Commissioner Bhim Sen,a former IAS officer administered oath of office to Batish,who succeeded S S Parmar,a former Chief Secretary who retired on June 5,2012.

His selection was made by a panel headed by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. Leader of Opposition Vidya Stokes and senior minister Ravinder Ravi were also members of the panel,which examined more than six names,including states DGP D S Manhas.
