A total of 148 degrees were awarded to students and 144 students received prizes for participating in co-curricular activities during the annual convocation and prize distribution function of Government Home Science College,Sector 10,on Tuesday.
As many as 107 degrees were awarded to the graduates of BSc Home Science and Fashion Designing,10 degrees to M.Sc students of whom nine were from MSc Human Development and Family Relations and one from M.Sc Clothing and Textiles. Similarly 11 students from advance diploma in Child Guidance and Family Counseling were conferred with diplomas while 17 students of Foods and Nutrition and three from Fashion Designing were awarded post graduate diplomas.
The college principal,Madhu Nanda read the annual report for the session 2012-13 highlighting the achievements of students and the developments done in the interests of the institution.
Chief guest Dr Girish Sahni,director,Institute of Microbial Technology,Chandigarh,in his address was appreciative of the various achievements of the college.
