Passengers using the purple line of Bengaluru Metro were affected on Saturday after technical glitch has forced BMRCL to suspend services from MG Road and Baiyappanahalli stations.
Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stated that the train services are currently available only between MG Road and Challaghatta, and Baiyappanahalli and Whitefield (Kadugodi) and that normal services will be restored only after an hour.
Normalcy returned to train services from 11 am on the Purple Line between Challaghatta and Whitefield.
A distressed Metro passenger shared on X, “It’s 9.20 am on Saturday Morning and Metro connectivity has come to a standstill due to some unknown reasons.”
BMRCL spokesperson has expressed regret for the incovenience caused to the passengers.
“Disruption in Metro rail services on the purple line. Due to technical snag train services will not be available for a period of one hour between MG Road & Baiyappanahalli. Presently train services will be available only between MG Road and Challaghatta & Baiyappanahalli & Whitefield (Kadugodi).Green line the trains will run as usual. Inconvenience caused is regretted,” the spokesperson said.
