A 46 year old man allegedly stabbed a 26 year old woman to death at a park in south Bengaluru on Thursday, police said. The mother of the victim, in an attempt to rescue her daughter, bludgeoned him to death, police said. Police said the deceased were identified as Suresh, 46, a resident of Goraguntepalya, and Anusha, 25, who resided in Shakambari Nagar.
According to police, Suresh, who worked with Anusha, was in a relationship with her. They said the crime followed her decision to move out of the relationship.
Suresh Thursday invited Anusha to meet at the Shiva temple park, police said. Geetha, her mother, whom Anusha had informed of the meeting, watched from afar a heated argument between the two. Police said Suresh who had come with a button knife took it out and stabbed her multiple times, and Geetha who was watching rushed to stop him and when she failed, she bludgeoned him with a hollow brick.
“We will register two FIRs, one against Suresh for killing Anusha and another against Geetha for killing Suresh,” an officer said.
