Sohrabuddin: BJP lashes out at Cong for ‘misuse’ of CBI

“Congress leaders are speaking Jinnah’s language and are trying to divide the country. The Congress is the biggest communal party. They lost balance after Narendra Modi assumed power in 2002. They keep reminding the people of the past,but the fact remains that Gujarat is a model state,” Singh said at a gathering in Vadodara

He added: “This is not a political issue,but a national one. Encounters have taken place in other states too,but will they be investigated?”.

He said Amit Shah is an “honest and dedicated leader”.

At a gathering in Ahmedabad,Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha,Arun Jaitley accused the Congress of protecting Lalu Prasad in the fodder scam,which was under a CBI probe. He said the Congress used CBI to ensure that Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP leader Mayawati,who were facing problem in the Taj corridor case,extended support in Lok Sabha.

Jaitley also spoke about the involvement of Congress in corruption in the construction project for the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi,adding that the event would have been a success in Gujarat.

BJP leader Venakiah Naidu addressed a gathering at the Jan Jagran Abhiyan at Sardar Patel Smurti Bhavan in Surat. He said: “The Congress will take up the issue of Sohrabuddin and Amit Shah in the local civic polls in Gujarat,but they must realise that the people are with BJP and Narendra Modi.”

Senior Congress leader Shankersinh Vaghela,who also addressed a meeting in Varachha said: “The Congress has no links with Sohrabuddin. He was a criminal and was being sheltered by BJP leaders,who first used him and then killed him after he ceased being useful. The people of Gujarat will be updated with the old unsolved cases like the Sanjay Joshi CD scandal,murder of Haren Pandya,Akshardham Temple,and others. After IPS officers,IAS bureaucrats will be under the CBI scanner in the Sohrabuddin case.”

Congress releases ‘black paper’ on corruption

VADODARA: The Congress on Friday released a ‘black paper’ on the alleged corruption in the BJP government in Gujarat. Former Union Minister Naran Rathwa,GPCC chief Siddharth Patel and senior party leader Khummansinh Chauhan were among those present at the event.

Patel and Leader of Opposition in Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil,said the arrest of Amit Shah has brought shame to Gujarat.
