An elderly woman who was on a two-wheeler with her husband died when a monkey hit the front wheel of the vehicle near Memnagar fire station on Tuesday.

The 61-year-old victim,Ramila Shah suffered a major head injury while her husband Mahendra Shah escaped with a few injuries on his body.

The Gujarat University police said that the couple are residents of the Sumangal Society at Memnagar.

According to police,Mahendra lost the balance of the vehicle that skid on the road,seriously injuring his wife. The couple were rushed to a nearby private hospital where Ramila was declared dead.

The police have registered a case of accidental death.
