As on July 31, 2025, the Gujarat government approved eight new English-medium secondary schools in municipal corporation areas for the 2025-26 academic year, Minister for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education Kuber Dindor informed the assembly in response to a query by BJP MLA from Palanpur, Aniket Thaker.
Some key information made public in the Gujarat Assembly through starred questions includes:
Science City, Ahmedabad signed MoUs with at least four institutes since 2022, according to data tabled in the House in reply to BJP Sabarmati MLA Harshad Patel’s question. These are:
Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IITGN): The Science City and IITGN entered into a pact on 23 February 2022 for five years to foster creativity towards Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) among students and interested youth. Science City will provide space and other necessary facilities for setting up experimentation centers and tinkering labs, organise workshops for teachers and students, provide financial assistance to IITGN for events. IITGN will organise exhibitions and workshops related to STEM, and also set up tinkering labs.
Gujarat State Tribal Education Society (GSTES): A pact was signed on 15 February 2022 valid till mutually agreed. The MoU allows students of the institute to visit Science City at half the ticket price. As per the agreement, the Tribal Development Department district officers who will provide the subsidised tickets will also arrange for travel, lodging and boarding for the students.
World Stem and Robotic Olympiad (WSRO): The MoU was signed on 30 April 2022 for five years to create awareness about robotics and organise training/workshops in schools/colleges/ITIs where Science City will provide space and other necessary facilities and WSRO will organise events, competitions related to robotics and STEM at regional, national and international levels.
Micron Semiconductor Technology India Pvt. Ltd (Microne): The MoU was signed on 17 October 2024 till mutually agreed with an objective to “inculcate enthusiasm for Science”. In the first phase, a Micron STEM lab will be set up at Science City. Over the next two phases there will be an exhibition at the year end preceded by STEM-based activities. Science City will bear all the expenses during the visits, while Microne will bear the expenses of training up to 600 students within a limit of Rs 50. This will benefit mainly the students of Classes 9-12 of Student Police Cadet (SPC) Programme .

Blood banks: As on July 31, 2025, 206 blood banks and 238 blood storage centres are functional in the state. Of these, 32 blood banks and 147 blood storage centres are being run by the state government. Health minister Rushikesh Patel provided this information while replying to BJP Amraiwadi MLA Hasmukh Patel’s query.
Eye donations: In the last two years, 12,147 eye donors have registered themselves in Gujarat, said Health Minister Rushikesh Patel while replying to two questions raised by BJP MLAs from Surat; Sangita Patil (Limbayat) and Arvind Rana (Surat East).
Patan University: In reply to a starred question raised by Congress Patan MLA Kirit Patel, the Gujarat government has replied in affirmative that MK University in Patan operates from a place other than the one it is approved on. Minister for Higher and Technical Education Rushikesh Patel informed the Assembly that the government has received three complaints in this regard. The minister’s reply also stated that action as per rules is under consideration of the government.
