He was born to Mothilall and Shanti Devi Bohra in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He completed his higher secondary education before embarking on his political journey. In 1983, Bohra joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing, Hindu nationalist, paramilitary volunteer organisation. His association with the RSS marked the beginning of his political career.

Between 1995 and 2000, Bohra served as the Zilla Pramukh of Jaipur district. This role marked his first significant political responsibility, and he executed it with dedication and efficiency.

His political career took a significant turn in 2014 when he was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Jaipur constituency. He defeated Mahesh Joshi of the Indian National Congress, his nearest rival, by a margin of approximately 539,000 votes. He won the Lok Sabha elections for the second time on May 23, 2019, defeating his closest rival, Jyoti Khandelwal of the Congress party, by a margin of 430,626 votes.
