Pedro de la Rosa: From Formula One to Formula E Success Born February 24, 1971, Pedro de la Rosa is a Spanish former Formula One driver, motorsport executive, and broadcaster. His racing career spanned from 1999 to 2012, encompassing 107 Grands Prix with various teams including Arrows, McLaren, and Sauber. A notable achievement was scoring a point in his debut race, a feat achieved by only a select few. He also secured a podium finish at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix and accumulated 35 championship points. Beyond Formula One, de la Rosa dominated Japanese motorsport, winning both the Formula Nippon Championship and the All-Japan GT Championship in 1997—a first for a Spanish driver in Japanese open-wheel racing. De la Rosa’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of Drivex in 2005. His executive experience extended to serving as the technical and sporting director of Techeetah in Formula E, culminating in a Teams' Championship victory during the 2018-19 season. His post-racing career also includes broadcasting roles with prominent Spanish networks and currently serving as an Aston Martin ambassador (since 2022). De la Rosa’s contributions extend beyond individual success; his leadership and expertise have significantly impacted the motorsport industry, particularly in Formula E. His career exemplifies a successful transition from driver to influential motorsport executive and broadcaster.
