Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy is a veteran political leader from the Andhra Pradesh-based Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party and a Member of the Parliament from the Ongole constituency. His career, however, has been marked by multiple party switches and strategic shifts, making him a fascinating figure in the state's dynamic political landscape.
He was born in 1953 and had an early start in his political career. He won his first Lok Sabha election in 1998 on Congress ticket. From 2004 until 2009, he worked for his constituency once more and became well-known as an outspoken supporter of them.
But in 2014, a proposal for Andhra Pradesh's division by the Congress-led government marked a turning point. He decided to quit Congress and join the Telugu Desam Party, as he was against the bifurcation.
However, his affiliation with the Telugu Desam Party did not last long, as in 2019, he decided to join the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party after losing the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Notably, he won the 2019 Lok Sabha election, under the banner of his new party marking his latest move as a successful one.
