
Kapil Moreshwar Patil is a notable figure in Indian politics, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Born on March 5, 1961, in Anjur Dive, Thane, Maharashtra, Patil completed his graduation in B.A. in 1984–85 from Mumbai University.
Before joining the BJP, Kapil Patil served in various capacities, including as Chairman of the Thane District Co-operative Bank and President of the Thane Zilla Parishad. His switch from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to the BJP in March 2014 was a pivotal move in his political career.
This transition was followed by his successful contest in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from the Bhiwandi constituency as a BJP/NDA candidate, marking his entry into national politics.
He also became a Member, Standing Committee on Urban Development in September 2014.
In the 2019 elections, Patil successfully retained his seat from Bhiwandi, followed by a sworn-in as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ministry reshuffle on July 7, 2021.
