Pakistan, China Deepen ‘Iron-Clad’ Ties with CPEC 2.0 | Shehbaz Meets Li Qiang in Beijing

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Premier Li Qiang have reaffirmed their countries’ “iron-clad” strategic partnership, pledging to work closely on CPEC 2.0 — the next phase of the ambitious China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. In Beijing, both leaders committed to advancing five new economic corridors, fast-tracking projects like the Main Line-1 railway, the Karakoram Highway realignment, and Gwadar Port operations. The meeting also saw new agreements signed on science, technology, IT, agriculture, and media cooperation. As Shehbaz Sharif praised China’s rise under Xi Jinping and pledged support for Beijing’s global initiatives, the talks underscored the enduring partnership between the two allies.
