Freedom 251 was launched by Ringing Bells at Rs 251, a price that raised many eyebrows, mainly because the minimum manufacturing cost of a smartphone is at least 10 times than this one. While there still speculations over delivery, bookings etc; we take you through a list of smartpones that will cost you less than Rs 5000. Trio Trio Smart Touch Phone Junior 3 is suposedly the cheapest smartphone available right now at Rs 1,499. This is a dual SIM smartphone that features a 3.5-inch HVGA display with a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The device has a 1.3 megapixel rear camera. On the downside, we don't know what OS it runs.
Micromax EG333, also priced at RS 1,499 is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports GSM and CDMA (for TATA SIM). This one comes in black colour varaint, 2 megixel camera at the back, supports 2G and 3G connectivity and runs on a single- core 1.2 GHz processor. It features a 3.2-inch display and comes with 512 MB RAM and 1 GB ROM. Of course, it costs Rs 1,499, but the specs are really low and really nothing compared to the Freedom 251.
Lava Iris Atom is available on Flipkart at Rs 3,099. Iris Atom features a 4-inch display, 5 megapixel rear camera with HDR to click pictures in high-definition and a VGA fron camera. The device is powered by 1.3 GHz quad core processor with 512 MB RAM and 8GB internal memory, expandable upto 32GB. Lava Iris Atom runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 and feature smart gesture control that allow users to launch applications even from locked screen.
Next up on our list is Intex Cloud 4G Smart is priced at Rs 4,999. The Cloud 4G Smart is a 4G-enabled smartphone and features a 5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 and is backed by a 2,000mAh battery. The device has a hybrid SIM slot, which allows 2 SIMs or 1 SIM and a SD card simultaneously.
Samsung Tizen Z1 is another smartphone that you can get for under Rs 5,000. The Tizen Z1 sports a 4-inch WVGA PLS display along with a 3.1 MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. It is available for Rs 4,249 in white colour variant on Flipkart. Running on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 768MB RAM and 4GB internal memory, the Z1 runs on Tizen 2.3 operating system.
Xolo Prime can be bought at Rs 4,870 in black and gold colour variants from Flipkart. This is a 3G-enabled smartphone which features a 4.5-inch IPS screen along with a 5MP camera with Flash and a VGA front camera. The device powered by a 1,800 mAh battery and comes with dual SIM card slots with 3G support on both.
Windows Lumia 435 is the perfect option for the ones looking for a Windows device for under Rs 5,000. The Lumia 435 is a Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim 4-inch WVGA 800×480 screen. The device sports a 2 megapixel rear camera and a VGA 0.3 megapixel and is powered by dual core Snapdragon 200 processor coupled with 8GB RAM.
Lenovo A2010 is an affordable 4G LTE smartphone available at a price of Rs 4,990.
