Google has launched its latest mobile operating system, dubbed Android 10. With this new release, the company is focusing on providing consumers with features using on-device machine learning. While at the same time the company has also added support for new technologies like foldables and 5G. Android 10 comes with Google's Smart Reply feature, which provides users with suggested actions when they get a message with an address or a YouTube video. This feature also works across all Android messaging apps. The operating system now also allows users to choose to only share location data with apps while they are using them. The operating system will also send reminders when an app that you are not actively using is accessing your location, so you can decide whether or not to continue sharing. This time around the company has also added a native Dark Theme, which can be enabled for the entire phone. Users can also choose specific apps, which will have the dark mode enabled. The company has added a new Privacy section under Settings, where users will be able to find all the important controls like Web & App Activity and Ad Settings. Google has also added new gestures for navigating the UI. The company will now allow users to go backwards, pull up the homescreen and fluidly move between tasks with the help of gestures. With Android 10, Google will provide users with security updates and bug fixes via the Google Play Store, making it much simpler and easier for you to keep your phone secure. With Android 10, users get the option to use the Live Caption feature, which automatically captions videos, podcasts and audio messages across any app. This feature will become available this fall, starting with Pixel. Android 10 gives users the option to mark notifications as “Silent”, this will help the users complete their tasks as the notifications will not make noise or appear on the lockscreen. The Family Link feature will help users make digital ground rules like daily screen time limits, device bedtime, time limits on specific apps and more for all the devices they own in the house running Android 9 Pie or 10. With this they can also review the apps children install on their devices, as well as their usage. Under the Digital Wellbeing feature, the company now also has a focus mode, which lets users select the apps they find distracting and silence them until they come out of the focus mode.
